PRIVACY POLICY

We believe you deserve to know exactly what information we collect and how we use it. This policy is written in plain English — no legalese — so you can make informed choices about your data.
1. WHO WE ARE
Anthony's Painting & Remodeling ("we," "us," or "our") operates a mobile application ("the App") that serves three types of users: clients who request painting estimates and track job progress, crew members who log hours and view job assignments, and the business owner who manages jobs, schedules, and payments.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the App.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect only what is necessary to provide our services:
- Account information: your name, email address, and the password you create (or authentication token if you sign in with Google or Apple).
- Contact & job details: your phone number and property address, which you provide when requesting an estimate or scheduling a job.
- Photos and videos: images or videos you upload of job sites, rooms, or paint colors for estimates and progress tracking.
- Push notification tokens: a device-specific token used to deliver notifications about your job status. We do not use this token to track you.
- Usage and technical data: basic information like device type and operating system version, collected automatically to keep the App working reliably. We do not track your behavior for advertising purposes.
We do not collect your precise GPS location, contacts, calendar data, or any information unrelated to painting and remodeling services.
3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
Your information is used solely to operate and improve the App:
- Create and manage your account and your role (client, crew, or owner).
- Prepare and deliver estimates, schedule jobs, and track project progress.
- Send you notifications about your job status, payment confirmations, and scheduling updates.
- Process payments for deposits and balances through Stripe (see Section 5).
- Allow the business owner to assign crew, review job photos, and manage schedules.
- Respond to support requests and troubleshoot technical issues.
We do not sell your personal information, use it for advertising, or build marketing profiles from your data.
4. PHOTOS & VIDEOS
When you upload photos or videos through the App — for example, pictures of a room for a color visualizer estimate, or job progress photos — those files are stored securely in Google Firebase Storage. Access is restricted so that only you (as the client), the assigned crew members, and the business owner can view them.
Photos and videos are used exclusively for the purpose you uploaded them for (estimates, job documentation, or progress tracking). They are not shared publicly, sold to third parties, or used for any other purpose.
You may request deletion of your uploaded photos at any time by contacting us or by deleting your account (see Section 9).
5. PAYMENTS
Payment processing in the App is handled by Stripe, a secure third-party payment processor. When you pay a deposit or job balance, your card information is entered directly into Stripe's secure interface.
We never see, store, or have access to your raw card number, CVV, or full card details. Stripe handles all sensitive payment data and is certified to PCI DSS Level 1, the highest standard for payment security.
We do retain a record of payment amounts, dates, and Stripe transaction reference numbers for job invoicing and business records. Stripe's own privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.
6. PUSH NOTIFICATIONS
If you grant permission, the App sends you push notifications for events such as job status updates, estimate approvals, payment confirmations, and scheduling changes. Notifications are delivered through Expo's push notification service and Apple/Google's respective notification platforms.
Your push notification token is stored in our database linked to your account so we can route notifications to the right device. We do not use notification tokens for any tracking or advertising purpose.
You can turn off push notifications at any time in your device's Settings app.
7. SHARING WITH SERVICE PROVIDERS
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate the App. Each provider only receives the data necessary to perform their function:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database, Realtime Database, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions) — stores your account data, job information, photos, and sends automated emails. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
- Stripe — processes credit card payments. Stripe's privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy
- Expo — delivers push notifications and provides the mobile app framework. Expo's privacy policy: expo.dev/privacy
We do not share your information with anyone else — including data brokers, advertisers, or other third parties — unless required by law.
8. DATA RETENTION
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. Specifically:
- Account data (name, email) is kept for the lifetime of your account.
- Job records (addresses, photos, payment history) are retained for a minimum of three years for business and tax recordkeeping purposes, even after a job is completed.
- Push notification tokens are removed when you delete your account or sign out of the App.
If you delete your account (see Section 9), your personal account information is removed promptly. Anonymized or aggregated job records that do not identify you personally may be retained for business reporting.
9. ACCOUNT DELETION
You can permanently delete your account directly inside the App. The option is available in the Settings screen for all account types (client, crew, and owner).
When you delete your account:
- Your name, email address, and authentication credentials are permanently removed from our systems.
- Your push notification token is deleted.
- Job records linked to your account are anonymized where possible, or removed in full if there are no outstanding business or legal retention requirements.
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you run into any issues deleting your account in the App, email us at aanthonygavina@icloud.com and we will delete it manually within 30 days.
10. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The App is intended for use by adults arranging professional painting and remodeling services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the App, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
11. YOUR RIGHTS
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information by updating your profile in the App or contacting us.
- Delete your account and associated personal data (see Section 9).
- Opt out of push notifications at any time via your device settings.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below.
12. SECURITY
We take reasonable steps to protect your information. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Our database access rules ensure that users can only read and write data they are authorized to access. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe and never pass through our servers in raw form.
No system is 100% secure, but we are committed to keeping your data protected and will notify you of any breach that materially affects your information as required by applicable law.
13. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the App or by email. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
